It was a quiet night tonight at The Art House for
their "Moving Voices" open-mike monthly hoe-down, so quiet in fact
there was no second half after the intermission..until three young teenagers
walked through the door..Our concierge then ushered us all upstairs to hear
the poem one Mancunian lass had bought with her. She lost two friends but she
squared her shoulders and read twice a poem I haven't found on-line but she
said; "they're reading this everywhere and they read it at the
vigil" She was tiny but her accent was wonderful and her attitude
indomitable, it bought our small crew together..we sang; "Don't Look Back
in Anger" to a single acoustic guitar. When I spoke to the
girls afterwards I told her about the proximity I had experienced more than
once to Irish terrorism..I told her straight; "It's community that will
prevent it and you guys seem to understand that..Police and army etc. can
only do so much..awareness is what will beat them and that's a feeling"
She agreed..how bl**dy sad..she was brave....she hopes to return for the
funerals and/or the service of remembrance..."" The Lifeboat News, go to: http://members5.boardhost.com/xxxxx/index.html?1496642988
